I ordered the Lasagna, and like most great Italian restaurants we were given a bread bowl with oil, which is always delicious. The lasagna was lovely, and my drink was topped up whenever I needed it. Very much enjoyed this place, and I am sure I will be back!
We went to Bravo for lunch and were surprised to see cheaper prices, but only by a few dollars on our favorite pasta dishes, and they were smaller portions too. The atmosphere is always great and carry-out is easy and quick here. The food always comes out incredibly quickly and we love the unlimited bread. I also think that the quality of the food is always high and consistent, and we continue to come back for delicious food. Today, however, no one working was very kind to us. When we walked in, we were greeted by a grunt and little eye contact and left to stand at the hostess stand for a minute, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Once we sat down, our waitress was ok, but really wasn't engaging and didn't seem to care a lot. We asked for more bread, and we know it's unlimited because we've been several times, and she returned begrudgingly with only two small wedges of bread. I just felt kinda weird about the service today, like something was off. I rated it so high because we really do love this place, but the service we received was definitely sub-par.
Bravo is a dependable choice for great Italian food. We've been coming here for decades, and have preferred many of the dishes to those we have had in Italy. One major winner is the LASAGNA, which, if you can get over the basicness of ordering lasagna in an Italian restaurant is amazing. You can easily split it or bring some home to eat later, although I have been known to down the whole thing in one sitting. Another must try is the PASTA FRA DIAVOLO, which consists of delicious fresh shrimp in a lightly spicy tomato cream sauce. New on their menu is SPAGHETTI CON CACIO E PEPE, which unfortunately doesn't measure up to the deceptively simple but delicious Italian pasta that is its namesake. It SHOULD have a creamy sauce made from pasta water and finely grated pecorino cheese, but instead it is just sitting in olive oil with somehow barely any pepper or cheese. The name of this dish literally means spaghetti with pepper and cheese, but it was woefully lacking in both. Fortunately, they come around with finely grated Parmigiano and pepper, so if you order this just have them add lots of both to take this dish where it needs to go. I like a mild, peppery pasta, so i enjoyed it and would order it again as long as I can doctor it up. Most people, however, will probably feel ripped off. The INSALATA DELLA CASA side salad is great and refreshing, if you want to add it to your meal. One thing you won't be sorry you ordered is the excellent TIRAMISU, which is the best I've had anywhere, and ranks right at the top of our favorite desserts of all time. It's the coffee sauce they drench it in that takes it to the next level. You'll lick the plate happily. One of our top spots to eat, because we always are happy with the quality of the food and excellent service.
First time here at Bravo and we went to celebrate my birthday. I can say it's a nice hidden gem in Castleton! The food was amazing and had a lot of flavor. Just an FYI, if you want a starter, the spinach and artichoke dip was SOOOOO mouth watering. I had a glass of moscato with my dinner and I wanted to take a bottle home. The only reason I took one star away is because of the service we received. The wittier was slow and forgetful. But hey, the food made up for it!
Love this place for both dinner and lunch! Great food with nice portion size and fair prices. Salads are flavorful, bread and dipping oils are yummy and pasta is terrific!
