The Grove Coffee House - Independence

Mr. G and I embarked on a coffee crawl this morning and discovered this delightful café located on the square in Independence. The barista was fantastic, and this place truly focuses on coffee. While their food and pastry selection is quite limited, the coffee more than makes up for it. I typically don’t enjoy flavored lattes because they tend to be overly sweet and mask the espresso’s flavor. However, the barista mentioned that Common House makes its own syrups, and after describing the Almond Joy latte syrup, I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, it was incredible—perfectly balanced, flavorful, and not too sweet. The latte was even beautifully presented with artwork in the foam. Mr. G opted for a pour-over, which he enjoyed as well. The seating was comfortable, with tables at just the right height for relaxing chats or productive work sessions. There was a steady flow of customers coming in for their excellent coffee. The restroom was clean, spacious, and gender-neutral, which is always a plus, along with plenty of plants that added to the ambiance. I'm interested in their co-working space and will definitely look into it. I would happily go out of my way to grab coffee from here, as my latte was that good! They also sell beans and offer some intriguing merchandise.

The atmosphere of this coffee shop isn’t really my style. It feels more like a place for quick visits rather than a cozy hangout. The decor is quite simple and minimalistic, which might be appealing to some. The menu is also limited, and since I’m not a regular coffee drinker, I prefer more exciting flavors! I tried a cold brew with their homemade foam on top, and I must say, the foam was delicious and definitely the highlight of my drink. They also had a small selection of baked goods available.

The coffee here is fantastic, and the staff is incredibly friendly! It's also a lovely spot to enjoy your drink.

You won't be disappointed. Its been amazing to find a co-work space located in downtown Independence. The area is quaint and the amenities offered far exceeds what you can find elsewhere for the price. Shout out to Noah and Josh for bringing such a well needed opportunity to Independence.

Today, I had the pleasure of discovering the charming coffee shop, Common House KC, where I also had the opportunity to meet the owner, Josh. He prepared a fantastic pour-over coffee for me and took some time to chat. I’ve quickly become a fan of both this coffee shop and its owner. If you're looking for a great place to set up your laptop and work while enjoying an exceptional cup of coffee, this is the place to be. I loved the design, which has a minimalistic and earthy vibe, enhanced by the abundance of plants and a clean aesthetic. I can’t recommend this spot highly enough; it’s truly a must-visit! Plus, it’s located in the charming Independence Downtown Town Square. Be sure to stop by; you won’t regret it!
