The Depeaux - Independence

Stopped in here to have dinner with a few friends. Ordered the buffalo chicken grilled cheese it was fine but I would pass on it next time. Bread was toasted just right and buttery, but I think using the boneless wings in it instead of a chicken breast filet (like most other chicken sandwiches) allows it to fall short. My girlfriend had the backyard dog. I tasted the chili from it and it was very good. She enjoyed her meal. The fries were great as well. Thin, crispy, and salted. Some friends got the wings and raved about them. They looked to be very nice in size and cooked sauced right. Service was iffy at times. Minor annoyances like forgetting to submit an appetizer, confusion getting another beer, and struggling to have ketchup brought to the table. It was a busy night and ultimately wasn't detrimental but hopefully a little smoother if we stop in again. $35 for two meals, three beers, and a tip in these times? That's worth trying at least once. Also, I'd recommend darker shades on the upper part of the west facing windows. The sun is absolutely brutal. Forgive us for using a menu to block it temporarily If you are near Independence, stop and check it out.
