Smokehouse Barbecue Independence

The food is incredible, and the service is outstanding! This place has the best barbecue in the Kansas City area!

The half chicken was tough and overly chewy, requiring a lot of effort to eat. The sauce was poured generously over a full plate of ribs, but the beef was extremely undercooked and tough, resembling jerky. For the amount we spent, we were very disappointed.

I had lunch here today and was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the place was. It was our first visit, and we really enjoyed the lovely paintings and the overall atmosphere.

This was a fantastic stop on our way home! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was lovely. I particularly enjoyed sitting beneath a stained glass window—what a beautiful touch!

On May 11, 2023, I had the chef's special and shared it with someone, and it was more than enough for both of us. This place never disappoints. On February 25, 2023, I visited for the fifth time and can confidently say I've never had any issues. Our server (I’m sorry, I don’t remember her name) was outstanding. Although it was a bit busy, our drinks and food came out quickly. Everything was great – the sauce was tasty and both the food and sides were delicious. We got the chef's choice for two, which was perfect for lunch at just $35. We couldn’t finish it all; there was plenty of food. I would definitely recommend this place!
