Café Verona - Independence

Too expensive for food that is not high quality, especially for such an establishment. Might as well go to Olive Garden. Gordon Ramsay would spit out your food without a doubt.Do better.

We went for a late lunch after visiting the Truman Library. The food was good and since it was late they were understaffed at the time.

The cost of the food is overpriced for the quality of food. We ordered 3 appetizers, and the amount and flavors were subpar. I ordered the gnocchi, which was good, but the chicken I added was stringy in texture. It was not very busy in our section and seemed to take our waitress a bit to come to our table. Overall, I wouldn't likely return for my Italian cuisine.

On a visit back to Independence with my friend we wanted to enjoy a familiar restaurant, which in the past has been excellent.We had one of the worst experiences of customer service in a restaurant ever. We decided to have cocktails on the patio prior to our 6:30 dinner reservation which was made 2 days in advance. In the 30 minutes we waited no one came to wait on us. We moved to the bar and let the bar tender know, she deserves and extra star as she comped our drinks.However, we will then seated in the smallest table in the hallway of the restaurant. I politely requested a different location and was told that it wasn't possible due to a large party upstairs??? We waited for 10 more minutes whenever greeted offered drinks and the two other tables who came in after us were parties of two were sat at better tables, and were waited on immediately.Very disappointed. Will not be back.

Always a lovely time, though sad they did not continue the amazing peanut butter/banana cheesecake. Nonetheless, you can’t go wrong here. Friendly folks, fast service. 10/10 choice.
