We had to accompany the 5 course and the 3 course meals with alcohol. Both were excellent. The staff was amazing and the environment was magical. I recommend booking to get a good table.
An absolute jewel of a restaurant hidden in the nature of Lapland. If you are in or near Inari, I recommend you to eat 100% in Aanaar! Located in a humble location, with the hotel bar/lounge area even within the restaurant, it comes as a great surprise how incredible and Michelin-star-like the food and service is. Made with local ingredients, literally every dish is a piece of experimental art that bursts with delicious and fascinating flavors.
Fantastic experience in this newly renovated restaurant/hotel. the staff is very friendly and goes too long to explain the origin of the dishes. special nutritional needs were treated with enthusiasm (vegetaric/pescatal). we took the 5-course menu with wine package and soft drinks. both were a unique experience and accompanied the different courses perfectly. the snowball desert and the lollipop earn a Michelin star for their originality. a must try. the quantity and quality of food is very good. the restaurant itself has a stand of the artable, a full view of the snowy forrest and if they are lucky to experience aurora borealis, they will dim the lighter. there is always room for improvement, so a few small points would make this experience perfect; the trout was slightly overcooked, but still very tasty. their dishes may be quite dry, but a bit more accompanying sauces would probably satisfy the southern palate. the wine card is very unique and international, so maybe a few local options and at least a few French weine would be great. overal it was a great experience and we come back
Top Notch food from only local resources. We had the Inari 3-course dinner with soft drinks that are perfectly matched. All courses were delicious and original! Service was great and the outside view is also stunning.
Dining choices are limited in Inari, but the ones around pack a real punch. Restaurant Aanaar is no exception. The interior exudes ease in its unassuming minimalism, immersing guests instead in mesmerising views of the coursing Juutuanjoki rapids. Throughout the evening, each of Aanaar's deeply rooted creations was paired with non alcoholic drink options uniquely infused with local herbs and ingredients. The exquisite 5 course menu itself pilgrimaged through Lake Inari whitefish, pike bone foam, roasted reindeer and a smoke sauna of birch leaf derived sweets. Unsurprisingly all dishes were superb and lived up to Aanaar's well deserved accolades. What exceeded the already high expectations was the reindeer steak divinely tender in generous portions with three accompaniments: reindeer red pudding, bilberry lichen and wild mushrooms to go with Lappish potato purée. It was easily the stand out of the evening. We walked away unable to recall a better reindeer roast, and enjoyed it so much that we returned for another helping two days later.
