Pizzeria Il Leccio - IMPRUNETA

Italian food is supposed to set the standard for the rest of the world. In general they create with very basic ingrediënts a unique experience. I will prefer a simple pizza in Italy over some fancy dish in a fancy restaurant anytime.... But boy... was I disappointed. We ordered 5 pizza 's and all five where burned. the taste was ok 'ish .... if you live in Belgium. And even then I would never visit this place a second time.... If you just want to know how bad it was: take a look at game of Thrones: Walk of Atonement. So: lets go into detail a little bit: 1 The crust: On the outside: black as the night. Normally you have some hope when it 's black, at least it will be crispy Well guess what: it wasn 't. Take a piece of gum and it will be crispier than this one. My wife said: perhaps it was yesterdays dough . I guess she might be right. 2 Cheese: Well, there was cheese in the center of the pizza. But the last 4 cm of the pizza there was just tomato sauce. I don 't mind if it 's good tomato sauce but this one propably was a powder based sauce? Maybe they stole some sauce from a pizza hut? 3 rest of ingredients: To be fair: they where ok. Except for the spicy salami. It had this strange I have been to long in the fridge and absorbed all other tastes kind of taste? And ow yheah: Spicy salami should be spicy. Now, I don 't want to be all negative: the woman that took the order was very friendly and took her time while I tried to explain what i wanted in my very bad italian. The man that delivered the order hardly said a word. Now I can understand that as there is a certain language barrier. To finish this review: I really hope they will try better for the next customer. In general it seems like it can be a nice place.

As previous reviewers state underwelcomed! Pizza for 4 of us was rather bland, the Diavola a supposedly spicy pepperoni had no pepperoni and not spicy! In fact as an English woman I have made better pizza at home, which is not what you want to say in Italy. Other guests asked for the music to be turned off, it was wrist slitting. Don’t bother wasting your money here, neither the ambience or food was worth it! The man serving had clearly had a personality bypass, grunted, was rude and was not at all appreciative of custom.

The pizza was fine but we felt completely unwelcome and ignored. We started with a shared salad but no plates were brought. We waited to see if he would bring them but he disappeared and didn't come back out until our pizza was delivered. So we ate our salad out of a shared bowl. The pizza was then delivered but again no plates. My husband ordered a soda after seeing another customer receive one but he received the generic brand where others who were locals received the name brand soda. I understand that service expectations can differ based upon cultural differences but these small things but made us feel so unwelcome we just wanted to leave. I would not recommend this restaurant.

I know the family who run the restaurant and it's always a nice experience go there... The place is just few minutes far from Petriolo thermal waters and surrounded by countryside and nature. The restaurant itself is nice and unusual, with a warm atmosphere. It's not uncommon to meet people from all the world and eating with them at the same table when busy. The food is great (you can find some vegan dishes too especially the pizza, cooked in the wooden oven. All the members of the family are nice and always have something interesting to tell you or do (play the piano or the guitar or... . I really recommend this place if you are nearby you mustn't miss it!

Terrible, disinterested service. Burnt but sloppy pizzas. Expensive. A depressing experience. Avoid.
