The food and drink offerings now feel like a poorly maintained ashtray compared to what they used to be. While the food was never exceptional, it was decent enough to enjoy. However, now the portions are excessively large, and the quality has really declined.
Save your time and money. This was my second visit to Scottie's, and I left even more disappointed than the first time—perhaps more disappointed in myself for returning. This time, I stopped in for lunch and a couple of beers, and I ordered the BBQ pork nachos. The BBQ pork tasted like something from the supermarket—very bland and reminiscent of bottled BBQ sauce. The cheese they used was completely flavorless. It was so dull that it was almost unpleasant to eat. I had visited once before for dinner, and that experience was equally disheartening. I don't mind loud music in a bar, but it's not ideal while trying to have dinner and engage in conversation. Once again, the food was uninspired and tasteless, and I couldn’t wait to leave.
After considering all the enticing options on the entree list, I settled on what I believe is their signature dish, the Kilkenny Slinger—lovingly dubbed a “heart attack.” It was a delicious feast for anyone with a hearty appetite. Be prepared to come hungry when you order this! The dish consists of a bed of tater tots topped with two beef patties, two over-easy eggs, and a split sausage on either side of the plate, all smothered in their homemade chili. It’s garnished with shredded cheddar cheese and jalapeños, making it quite the indulgent meal. After lunch, I enjoyed a blackberry lemonade shot with the bartender, who encouraged me to sign up for their rewards program—which I happily did! I was surprised to learn that this restaurant is owned by the Gianino family, known for places like Bill Gianino's, Frankie G's, Joey B's, and Billy G's. I don't know much about the other locations, but I recently had pizza at Frankie Gianino's, and it was just alright. I've also experienced some chaos while drinking at Joey B's, but whatever system they have going at Scotty's is definitely on another level. Although it can be a bit pricey, I will definitely return for the great pub food and hope to be served by that wonderful bartender again!
I really enjoy this restaurant. If I lived closer, I would definitely visit more often. The bartenders and servers are fantastic, and the Chicken Philly along with the tater tots are delicious, along with many other tasty items on the menu. I've been here several times and always find it nice and clean, with plenty of TVs to keep you entertained.
We have been frequenting this restaurant for a while, but unfortunately, the quality of the food has been declining. Tonight, the fries that accompanied my Buffalo Chicken sandwich were lukewarm by the time they arrived at our table. Honestly, you'd be better off going to McDonald's for superior quality. The sandwich was unimpressive, with a sad, dried-out bun that was so small I ended up discarding it. It was practically unusable anyway, as the chicken filet was twice the size of the bun, making it impossible to eat without making a mess. While the Buffalo sauce had a nice kick, the chicken itself was only mediocre. On a positive note, I did enjoy the Beer Cheese Soup, but it's time for this place to elevate its culinary game. This experience is motivating me to explore further and seek out tastier options outside the neighborhood.
