The first strike was the waiter's tendency to avoid greeting or serving us at the table, the second strike was getting our order wrong but the third strike was the waiter slamming a glass of water in front of me, he didn't do that to my partner or other patrons. I'd hazard a guess that the waiter has issues with people of colour (as I was the only one at the cafe), I've seen no issues with him greeting or serving other patrons. There are other cafes around the port albeit noisier and more crowded but I'd recommend venturing to those before considering Papagalos.
The atmosphere is actually very nice but I can't rate it positively because of the incredibly poor and unfriendly service. This way has no place in the catering industry!!! At around 10 p.m. our full water glasses were snatched away and we were given a paper cup with the comment “you can pour the rest of the wine in here and sit there all night”. Short friendly words would bring both sides to their goal!!!! Stored opening time at Goggle is up to 2 hours.
My first stop to grab some lunch before exploring and I was very grateful I was able to enjoy an omelet and some juice with a view. My server understood my restrictions as a celiac, which made it much easier to enjoy. The breeze off the water was wonderful, as well. Dietary restrictions: Celiac Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch
To begin with we had to insist with the rather unpleasant waitress to be placed in the shade, I should point out that the heat of August is overwhelming in the morning on this sunny quay. We had the Greek brunch, very disappointing: bland scrambled eggs, not very tasty breads, a portion of ordinary cheese and cold meats such as those offered in plastic in supermarkets, flavorless industrial jam, a decent fruit salad and yet the only real good thing about brunch is yogurt. Greek with honey and nuts. The coffee is good, the fruit juice too. All this for 15 euros per person and served on a dish for 2 people in small quantities. An additional espresso coffee was charged 4 euros, these prices are consistent I imagine with those charged on the island. The positive point lies in the quiet location and the lovely view of the port.
I had the most wonderful BIG GREEK BREAKFAST here. €15 for more than you could possibly eat with coffee and orange juice, see my photo. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
