Pollen 185 - HYDE PARK

An impromptu lunch on a Sunday by my husband and I and we just LOVED IT! The staff are friendly, helpful and happy natured, the food was DEVINE (fresh ingredients, wonderful flavors) and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We shall return again and work our way through the menu!

First the good news. Bearing in mind that I am a meat eater, this vegetarian/vegan restaurant managed to provide wonderful food which satisfied all my needs. We went for the $30 a head Feed Me offer and they really did. Fantastic value and so tasty. I was so full I had to carry my belly out.Special thanks for the effort made to cater for one of our party with a serious bowel condition. Her meal was prepared after a Q & A session from which they invented a meal so good (and big) that a takeaway container was needed for the half she was unable to eat. Not many restaurants would go that extra mile and do it so well.I note some previous reviewers comments on the service. That was not our experience, but it is clear the female owner has worked hard to maintain this place and she says it as she sees it. She would fit in well in Yorkshire where they call a spade a spade! We loved her!!Now the bad news. This successful cafe/restaurant will close down in a month. I suspect high rents have had an impact as the proprietors are looking to start up elsewhere.So, go here soon, it's really worth it.
