Godi La Vita - HYDE PARK

What an experience. We went here earlier in the week and wow what great pastas .... We didn't try the cheese wheel experience this time but shared the wild boar papardelle and mushroom/truffle pasta and boy were they delicious. The coffee Pana cotta was average but I'll definitely be back to try more pastas especially the cheese wheel ones ..

To start with table water arrived with very warm glasses which was unpleasant. The waiters who served us were quite slow and it took us a while for us to get orders in but generally this didn't bother me. The food was good but not spectacular I really liked the Parmesan wheel pasta, we also had a gnocchi dish which needed seasoning but was ok. The dessert was ok but nothing spectacular we had the tortine. Overall it was quite expensive for the food provided in my opinion. What really upset me was that we had asked for table water and been supplied with a bottle labeled sparkling and refilled with still water; at the end of the meal the bill had water listed as a 6 dollar charge! Essentially 6 dollars for tap water! When question I was informed that it was a special filtered tap. I'm not sure what that is but every restaurant, pub or fast food place I have ever been has had free filtered water and it doesn't cost you a cent. What upset me most was that an argument ensued which ruined a pleasant evening and I'm pretty sure it was the owner leading the charge. The water was taken off the bill but I didn't think that still tap water should be charged for in the first place. Personally I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

If you go to Godi La Vita at least someone has to order a cheese wheel pasta, the staff let you watch and the wow factor is huge, they back it up with flavour as well. The crab pasta and the pesto gnocchi are also winners.

Ravioli tasted lovely however it wasn't hot and was a bit tough. Plan ahead and get dishes out as soon as they are done cooking. Warm atmosphere and great employees. I'll come again!
