Iceland's Guesthouse Axelshúsi

We stayed here for 4 nights last week and spent the days to visit local attractions, to experience thermal baths, to get hiking and wet in waterfalls. Beautiful rooms, clean and airy, very comfortable beds loved the bathroom, large breakfast, wonderful hospitality of hosts Maria and Stefan. The natural hot tub right in front of the house was a leak at the end of a long day. Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Iceland.

This is a beautiful place to stay with wonderful, friendly and accommodating hosts. Maria and Stefan have made our stay in Iceland special, as they really welcome us and feel at home in their beautiful pension. This is the perfect basis for a stay in Iceland. Ideally located in Hveregerdi, even a very beautiful city, the guest house is ideal for the Golden Circle Route and the entire South Coast. Vik is under a 2 hour drive from here and I could not honestly recommend staying somewhere better than that if you want to visit Iceland.... better than Hotel Ranga and better than Hotel Silica. The interior of the pension is stunning, quiet and full of color. Maria has cooked us a fabulous Icelandic lamb meal (that was AMAZING Maria! an evening and breakfast was delicious, and with many options! We wandered from here to the hot river, and Mary gave us the perfect advice when we do it and what to expect. This place I believe exists! We sat in the hot river at 10 a.m. with a crystal clear sky the stars overhead, and as we out of the water, the northern lights into a fine ad. A perfect accommodation! I'll be back when I come back to Iceland and the rest of my group was equally impressed!

The best place I slept in the iceland. The owner always keeps under perfect conditions as you expect from the photo. The bathroom needs a renovation large, but not very comfortable.

We were here for 4 nights last week and were blown away from our experience. Maria Stefan (the host) goes beyond and beyond to ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible and both are a wealth of information about Iceland. The house itself is beautiful, warm and extremely clean. It has an open common area with beautiful views where you can enjoy a meal (commentary breakfast distributed every morning), read or play board games. The rooms are quite solid and we didn't hear any noise from other guests. Maria Stefan was very sweet/ friendly and would ask for our plans for the day and give tips. Stefan stayed late in a night when he found out that we tried to see the Northern Lights and gently knocked on our door when he discovered them to show us. We have definitely appreciated this, as this is a lifetime opportunity! Small things like these simply show how the care of hosts they were during our stay. We plan to go back to Iceland someday and DEFINITELY will stay here again.

If you hesitated...don't...place is wonderfull..guest are so nice and warm...and breakfast...is one of the best I ever had. We loved to be here. Thank you
