Ricery - Hurstville

The service at this restaurant was poor and there was false advertising with the Shanghai combination noodles. The picture showed large shrimp, but there were no whole shrimp on the plate. When we complained, they took the dish away and brought it back with only a few more small, inadequate shrimp added. Despite explaining that this was not right, they did not speak English and the customer service was lacking. On a positive note, the noodles and spring rolls were amazing.

No idea why previous reviews were negative but i enjoyed my experience here. There was a bit of a communication barrier but when food was that good, who cares! Came here on a groupon voucher which entitled me to spend $50 worth of food. Ordered : 2 xiao long bao $6.8, pan fried dumplings $10.8, boiled pork with chilli oil $11.2 and seafood fried rice $13.80. Every dish that came out looked delicious. Was totally stuffed afterwards. Wouldnt mind coming back.

My boyfriend and I decided to try this restaurant after seeing appetizing photos of the food displayed outside. Despite reading reviews about the small seating area, we were willing to give it a chance for the reasonable prices. We decided to start with the Boiled Pork with chilli oil and garlic, but were disappointed to receive a dish that looked nothing like the menu photo. The portion was much smaller than expected, with only a few thin slices of pork and a slice of cucumber. Overall, we found the dish to be misleading and were left wanting more.

Food: good marketing, but food is not as good as I thought. Had been expecting to try this place for a long time. The eggplant is deep fried and a little bit sour, that's it! I can make better eggplant. The pork rib is a bit weird, it was a lot of flour on it, but not enough meat, and the meat is too fat. It just doesn't taste very good. The dessert is sticky rice, I've heard too many good things about it, but it's just disappointing. Staff: very nice staff. Price: average. Environment: ok. Overall: Won't come back again as the food is not tasty. Don't wanna be negative, wish the boss could invent something nicer, so I'm giving 2.5.

The Chinese food at this restaurant seems authentic, but the service was very poor. Despite booking a table for a group at 6pm, we were not seated until 6.50pm. This is unacceptable and we will not be returning.
