The only caveat is that it is on a resort, so you are in the middle of a golf course surrounded by green grass and red rocks... but little to no people around and no close bystores. They have 7, 3 story buildings, I believe there are 10 or 12 units in each floor, we stayed in building 6, room 310, sois like a hotel but somehow feels different, more like an AirBnB type. There is no cleaning crew that will come by the nextday, you will have to call the reception, from your phone as there is no phone in the rooms, I checked. The rooms are spacious, but not the biggest I've seen. Every room has a balcony with great views of the surroundings. To checkout, you have to dropyour keys at the reception, but we had a problem where the key wouldn't open the door and had to go there 3 times, they could'vesend someone the second time we stop by ????. This is the only complaint I have of the hotel, in terms of location I would'vepreferred somewhere closer to... anything, but at the same time if you are looking for peace and quiet this just might me foryou.
This is an enjoyable, cushy resort on the property with the renown Sand Hollow golf course, perhaps the best in Utah. There are homes and rooms to rent. They have a restaurant serving 3 meals a day, swimming pools, hot tubs, a volleyball court, pickle ballcourts, and a rental company for ATVs, I think. The golf course has a driving range, a wee course (short par 3s), an easier 9hole links course, and the championship course that is well worth playing if you golf. Holes #12-15 are just spectacular. Oddly, they charge a day 's worth of money for in case you do damage, but they will refund it if you don 't. They said you can use thatmoney at the golf course and restaurant on the property, but that did not work when we were there. You do get 20% off green feesif you stay there. This feels like a treat yourself type of resort.
This was my 2nd time visiting San Hollow. Late October is a great time to come to this area. The golf course is spectacular. Incredible views and a very playable track. The fairways are massive with cross bunkers filled with native red clay/sand. Thegreens are even bigger, but typically very subtle, and have endless pin placements. The 2nd time playing was quite a bitdifferent from the 1st in how they placed the pins, I love that. Grab an earlier tee time to make sure you avoid the winds.
The service was bad. always had to ask for something, never asked if we had everything or if they could bring us something
I ordered fish and chips. the fish was very common. the fries were coated, not freshly cut. the ambiente outside on the deck was pleasant and the service was good.
