Panda Garden Buffet - Huron

As something you may know I travel the country the same Chinese dishes in restaurants Coast to Coast. One of my rules is if one or any of the following words are in the name of the restaurant it's highly unlikely it's going to be very good and those words are King Garden Panda Dragon pagoda Etc well tonight's offering add to the words in it however it beat all expectations Moo goo gai pan, hot and sour soup, egg foo young, and sometimes chow mein. I will start with the hot and sour soup. It was very good compared to 90% of the ones I have tried across America. However I think it could have used a little more vinegar for the sour taste and it used button mushrooms instead of tree fungus which is the proper fungus for this soup. Number to the egg rolls were really good if you like garlic and have a great garlic flavor. The moo goo gai pan had tons of button mushrooms which is correct however it was missing any carrots celery or any other greens but the flavor was dead on. The egg foo young what is very well done and the young lady gave me a discount on it as it was not a menu item. By the way here is a good point to add that the staff are super friendly and super kind and very generous. The lo mein noodles we're authentic and had proper spicing. When outside of the West Coast do you have to have lo mein instead of chow mein because even though the word meon means noodle in most places you get a very crispy noodle shaped cracker which is not chow mein in any form. All together without being a West Coast Chinese restaurant it's better than most in the middle of the country.

We used to always come here and recently stopped. The service and friendliness has turned down to slim to none. The food has down graded and isn’t as fresh as it used to be. You barely see a waitress/waiter and when you do you just get a seemingly dirty look and a sigh with a roll of the eyes when they do come to take your plates. People have bad days and that’s okay! but this is consistent and we only come when we don’t go to Tokyo.

Went about 6:30 pm. Food was all hot and fresh. Nothing soggy or over cooked. Great selection. All with different flavors. Good price and dessert too!
