I ordered the brisket, and it was absolutely delicious! The owners were incredibly friendly, and the staff was great—everything was spotless. For those who may not know, John Lee Hooker was one of the greatest blues guitarists of all time. The owner is also a fan of blues music, so we had a nice conversation about some of our favorite artists. I’ll definitely make a point to be hungry when I’m downtown so I can eat there again!
The food here is fantastic! I absolutely love the hot dogs. I can't wait to come back and try even more dishes!
Delicious homemade, home-smoked dishes! The brisket and pork are tender and flavorful. The place is charming and tidy, and it's located within the trendy Market area.
The staff was exceptionally friendly, offering my wife some samples to help her decide what to order. She can be a bit particular about trying new dishes, but with their assistance, she made her choice quickly. I opted for the brisket sandwich and baked beans, and I have to say, it was the best I've had in this area in a long time. After finishing our meal, we were pleasantly surprised that we didn’t leave feeling sluggish, which is often the case after dinner. The portions were just right, and we both felt great afterward. The "good mood food" at Charlie Graingers is definitely worth a visit, and it has earned a spot on our list of favorites for future outings!
Incredible! I drove down from Philadelphia to see family, and this is absolutely the place to be. The atmosphere is fantastic, the service is exceptional, and the food is the best in town. I might just have to visit my family more often!
