I've visited Longboards all over California, and the Huntington Beach location is just as fantastic as the others, but it has that classic Surf City USA atmosphere. We came in specifically for the lobster.
Two of us ordered lobster rolls, one had chicken wings, another chose a quesadilla, and I opted for the tri-tip sandwich. Besides the quesadilla, all the meals came with french fries and a sauce for dipping or spreading. I ordered a beer, but I'm not sure what the others drank. The service was prompt, and everyone had already decided on their meals when I arrived. After I placed my order, I noticed a card on the table highlighting the day's specials. Our food came out quickly, and while I wasn't overly stuffed after my meal, the sandwich was of average size—neither large nor too small, just enough. The food was decent, but not something I would crave again. There were plenty of other items on the menu that looked appealing. The dress code is casual, and the prices are reasonable; my sandwich cost $16.95, and the wings and quesadilla were likely less. There are also TVs in the restaurant, where patrons were watching baseball and basketball games. My nephew took care of the bill without allowing me to contribute, even for the tip. He mentioned the total was around $120, although it may have been higher if everyone had ordered alcohol. Every Tuesday night, Main Street is closed off for a street fair, creating a lively atmosphere with vendors and open stores and restaurants, making it a great time to visit. There's a parking garage directly across from Longboards. Since Main Street is blocked on Tuesdays, I entered from 3rd Street, where there’s 1.5 hours of free parking, followed by a dollar per hour after that. I was back at my car by 6:20 but must have just missed the free parking limit by a minute, as I ended up paying a dollar. Given its proximity to the beach, I can imagine that beachgoers and shoppers also use that garage. There's also a convenient credit card exit that allows cars to leave without an attendant, which was quite quick. I would certainly consider going back to Longboards, especially on a Tuesday night with the vibrant street fair happening nearby.
Went for lobsterfeast. Price was good for 2 lobsters but the lobster was not so great.
Food was good. They have the best pillowy crispy breakfast potatoes. And served real butter with the toast.
