So I love banzai bowls,And although I am an HB local-I usually get my banzai fix at the Newport location.Even though the HB location is closer,For whatever reason (and this could be a subconscious mistake I'm making) I just feel like the Newport bowls are a little better.I know it's the same ingredients and same order; sharks cove with half hemp milk and half apple juice,But for whatever reason and again it could be placebo-I just feel like the Newport bowls hit better. That being said,The Newport location by the pier is always so dang busy. The parking in Newport is a borderline nightmare, and the only way to get a bowl there without waiting for waaayyyy too long is to call ahead or order online. For the HB location it's way more mellow, less crowded, and by no means is it a bad bowl. It's just a matter of what your willing to deal with to get your banzai.Either way I hope you get some healthy bowl in your mix,Especially if you're a food tramp like I am.
Just enough rudeness, I will never go back. Just don’t ask for an extra bowl, you’ll get the death stare and I’m fing annoyed now, even after a $2 tip for a $12 item.Service: 1/5
Wonderful, açai, bowls with big chunks of high quality fruit. I’ve been there about 15 times and they never disappoint! The only item I’ve ever order there is the Maui açai bowl (I think that’s what it’s called), but I delete the coconut milk and honey, as I’m not a fan of those two ingredients. So yummy! Pictured is a small bowl. They’re extremely busy at lunchtime and probably other times of day that I am not aware of. You can order online so it’s ready when you get there, though. I usually go to the Huntington Beach location because I don’t particularly like the one in Costa Mesa. The food is just as good, but it’s very noisy, and it lacks the service and professionalism of the Huntington Beach store.
Ok one of my favorite spots to get açaí bowls is Banzai Bowls! Been coming here since probably a decade ago. I would go out of my way to come here.My favorite is their Maui Sunrise Bowl. Sometimes I will get it and walk it down to the beach! I'm usually not able to finish my bowl so I just take it home, put it back in the freezer and eat it later, still tastes good to me, it's not the exact same but close enough since I don't want to waste food or the money I just spent on it! They are the OG of açaí bowls where I got my very first açaí bowl and still a ten in my eyes. I like that the bowl gives a mix between sweet and sour flavors, the perfect balance. I have never tried their Pitaya bowls but I do want to try them! I have tried other shops but this is still one of my favorites. The açaí and pitaya bases here are blended to order. It's different from some other shops like Ambrose Açaí Bar or Açaí Joint where the bases there are pre-blended, frozen and then scooped which gives a different consistency and taste. I think both types of bowls are delicious, just depends on preference. I think the blended to order açaí base is slightly less sweet, more tart and more of a smoothie like consistency, which I love! There is paid metered street parking, like any beach it can get busy especially on weekends, it's not too bad on weekdays. Service is not always the best here but I'm just coming for my açaí fix so who cares. There's a little bit of casual inside and outside seating but that can get busy. Prices have definitely gone up in the past years like everything else but comparing to other spots price is fair and standard. They do get busy almost any time of day, weekday and weekend, so best to call ahead or place an online order. If I forget to do that, sometimes I'll be waiting in line for 20 minutes or more. I'm sad to see that they have only three and a half stars, probably mostly due to the service or long wait times. I feel like it should have at least four stars.
