A group of us rocked up here on a Sunday morning as one of the few places in town open eager for some breakfast before hitting the road to Tvl. The gentleman working there was alone .. so not only did he need attend to the (fairly regular) flow of customers wanting fuel, but he was also required to cook up no less than 13 meals for breakfast for a bunch of hungry footballers; which I’m surprised to say he did with a smile and a cheerful demeanor. Now we all know what usually constitutes a “big brekky”, but these meals were literally BIG! Suffice to say, the service was great, the food was great, the prices were great for what we got. BIG 5 stars for Lights on the Hill (and this particular staff member) .. will def be port of call for a brekky when next in town!
We turned up with a large group this morning unannounced and the Gentleman working did an outstanding job under duress on his own. Great size Breakfast and great quality food and service!
Let me paint a picture, its a chilly Sunday morning a bus and 23 dual cab utes full of over 35 footy players turn up, tired, a little hung over and hungry from the previous nights game of Masters Rugby League and after party in town, the poor guy at the counter was all alone as his other person on shift had called in sick. all of a sudden the orders start flowing in like a stampede and the big breakfasts and coffees are highly in demand......what should he do ? sneak out the back door and run for Richmond? or stay and fight. Lucky for us he chose to stay and fight the good battle and the meals were that were served were fantastic. the gentleman on hand is a credit to this business. we will see you again next year for our annual match up
Staff, uninterested. Toilets, filthy, degraded, no soap. So much potential, so little care.
