We were on a trip from Seville to Faro, Portugal and decided to take a short trip to Huelva, Spain for lunch. Really appreciate that was introduced in HappyCow because it has found vegan meals so much easier. Finding El Camilo de la Merced was one of those treats. I ordered the Vegan Pizza. The asparagus cream, onions, dried tomatoes and arugula mixed well and gave a refreshing change of taste. I'm not too sure the pizza crust was vegan to be honest. I didn't ask. My husband sat on the vegan burger with sweet potatoes. About El Camilo: The restaurant was located two blocks away from what I considered a city square. We had a short chat with Clemente the owner? / Manager who was curious how we found the restaurant. When I told him it was HappyCow, he was quite excited and began to tell us from others who had used the app to find his location, which by the way is not 100% vegan. We told him we were from San Clemente, California. Clemente made the visit all the better. I'd give the 5th place just for him.
We felt sooooo wellcome, perfect service and friendly staff. The pizza was amazing, better than what Ive experienced in Italy (Toscana). Big restaurant, probably good for big groups. They have home delivery service. This is a 5 star rating (impossible to give more than 4 stars to a non-veg restaurant)
There are great vegan options, the vegan pizza was honestly the best vegan pizza I had!
