We had the crispy fried noodles, which were very good. The owner seemed very happy that I could speak some Vietnamese, although the menu was in English. The other reviews pointing to the fact that the English menu is 30% more expensive are correct, in fact, you can just look at the Vietnamese menu on the wall (they do not hide it) and see it has different prices. I asked the owner why the prices were different and she explained that Westerners tend to eat more so she gives larger portions, hence the price differences. She pointed to the dish that a local was eating on the next table and it was smaller than ours.
Small local place with no English spoken. Foreigners get separate menu with 30% higher prices. Staff was quite intrusive, instructing us how to eat with chopsticks and almost constantly watching what we do. Despite higher prices, portions were rather small. At the end it felt like not really worth the price compared with other places in Hue.
Very authentic restaurant. Many local people are here which I claim to be a good sign. Prices are inexpensive, the food is great, simple menu, quick service and very nice people. Added pictures of correct location and menu. Note:The prices on th e English menu are ~30% more than the vietnamese menu, but still super cheap. Three dishes, one tea makes 85.000VND 4$
Handily located near to the citadel- northern gate. When we arrived there was nobody and we had to call but did find somebody to make an order. We had crispy fried noodle as she pointed to it on the menu- this was an interesting Vietnamese dish we would like to have again. The place was a bit grubby. Worth noting you aren’t really allowed to return to the citadel once you leave- we tried to leave for lunch as not much vegan food there, had a miscommunication with the guard on the gate and thought he understood but nearly weren’t allowed back in.
Great for lunch after visiting the ancient citadel. We found it fairly easy and ordered the banh cuon and tomato noodle soup. Both came out pretty quick, I am pretty sure they roll the cuon to order. Both were served with a mixed leafy salad and the cuon with a tasty sesame seed sauce. The portions were decent but I am a big eater so we got a second serving of the banh cuon. We also asked for chilli paste which turns out is home made and super tasty!! Seems vegan, no reason to suspect otherwise. Great service and friendly owners. All up cost was 50,000 VND. Would go again if I had time!
