El Rancho de Robertín began as a small restaurant and quickly became famous because Don Robertín served the most juicy, tasteful and crispy pig in the country. It is no surprise that he won MISTURA, the national festival of foods. Robertín consolidated as the best place to eat pork in Perú. Recently I went there with my family, the restaurant expands a lot, there are several tables and waiters. I was thrilled to order Chancho al palo, my mother Cuy frito and my niece Milanesa. Three commands and only a small pot of CARAPULCRA( Signature one pot). Well, I have to say it dissapointing. At first the carapulcra was oversalted and muddy, it was like flour with a lot of salt and black pepper, the rice was the most disgusting rice I ever had in my life, it was extremely chewing and boiled. At that time, I said: These things are not important, people come here to eat a good piece of Roasted Pork. To my surprise, the main dish had massive pig pieces, but it was SAD, the pig was dry, and I really mean DRY and hard like a rock. At that time I was angry and sad at the same time. I couldn't believe this was the same place where I licked my fingers. Now it's just another restaurant and for the price (55 soles) you can literally eat decent food in any other place of Huaral. We left the place restless and my mother said that quantity does not mean quality and we went home to eat ice cream.
