Starting with the soup with dumplings (unfortunately I couldn't find the current seasonal menu on their website), it was strong and perfectly seasoned. There was no need to add salt/pepper. The tuna in sesame and wakame salad was cooked just right, which I really enjoyed. The salad was good, the seaweed didn't overpower the other flavors. The duck meat-filled dumplings for the next course were delicious. The goose foie gras with fruit chutney was also delicious and to finish, the minced beef tartare and a small portion of tenderloin seemed quite sweet, but otherwise satisfactory. The dumplings were probably homemade. The homemade warm lemonade with rosehip and mint was a great idea. The ambiance is nice, pleasant, and the service is excellent (in my opinion, the pub stands out for its kitchen and service). It's an ideal place for business meetings, celebrations, romantic dinners, and lunches. Personally, I was a bit bothered by the artificial olive tree decorations and the plastic sign with the word "Reservation" (why not something nicer, like wooden, it really doesn't fit the interior). The cloakroom right after entering the establishment is a nice touch, and it's free. Unfortunately, the parking lot in front of the restaurant was icy. The reservation was made through the website, but it seemed to get lost somewhere, so I had to call to confirm if they had it.
A very high-quality restaurant that has maintained its standards since its establishment. The menu includes a variety of dishes, with a well-thought-out seasonal selection. I was able to try the St. Martin's menu, which included homemade pork jelly, rich broth, roasted goose with cabbage, and 4 types of sides: bread dumplings, potato dumplings, and potato gnocchi. The only downside was the potato cake, which had too much garlic for my taste. Nonetheless, the meal was excellent. For dessert, I had an apple in a robe, vanilla ice cream, homemade whipped cream, and coffee. The service was attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant, as it is one of the best in the area and has maintained its quality for years.
I think it is one of the better restaurants in Hradec. It's just a classic, where I always like to celebrate, for example, birthdays. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that they have had the same menu for quite a long time. That's why I almost always go for their seasonal offer, which is creative and appealing. The interior is very pleasant and the service is almost flawless. A place I love to come back to.
