Joey's - Houtzdale

I just tried Joey's for the first time, and it was absolutely delicious! They exceeded our expectations, and the portions were massive! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. There was a bit of a wait, but it was definitely worth it! We’ll be making more frequent visits to Joey's.

The food here is overpriced and lacking flavor. The pizza tastes like it came off a conveyor belt, while the wings are just mediocre. Any vegetables that aren't deep-fried have a rubbery texture. I also doubt the pasta is made fresh. The service is extremely poor; you'll find yourself waiting and waiting, even if only one or two other customers are around. The staff seems more interested in chatting with their regulars than attending to other guests. The hours are inconsistent, as the owner opens whenever it suits him, showing little regard for the community in a town with only three restaurants. The owner comes off as a self-important Mama's boy who loves to brag about himself. If you're looking for better food, service, and a friendlier atmosphere, Snappys is just a minute away and a far superior choice.

The food seemed geared towards an older crowd with very little flavor and everything was overcooked. The hamburger was tough, like a hockey puck, and the chicken parmesan was disappointing. The waitress was also quite absent during our visit. It’s a nice establishment, but I think we just had an off night. However, we probably won't return.

The food was excellent, and the portions were generously sized. The service was a little slow, but the ambiance was pleasant. We were able to have a conversation without being overwhelmed by loud music, which was a nice touch.

We absolutely adore Joey's! It has a charming small-town vibe and the food is incredible.
