Tostada Regia - Houston

This is more about service than the food. The food is good, mostly. But if you order through uber eats you may have issues. They do not offer refunds and 2 times I ordered and 2 times they sent the wrong plate, even though I added a note. I wanted to like this place so bad.*Update: I emailed them after they replied here and never heard back from them and it's been almost 2 weeks...

The food is fresh and delicious, and the tostada is much larger than I anticipated. This is not Tex-Mex! If you don't speak Spanish, be patient—it’s well worth it for the truly authentic Mexican cuisine. Food rating: 5/5.

I ordered two Parrilladas and received only one portion of rice and one portion of beans for both orders. When I asked for them to correct it, they did, but this time they forgot the tortillas. I eventually got one order of tortillas when I had requested two. That’s what I paid for. Each order of tortillas includes just three flour tortillas, which hardly feeds two people. It feels like only 1.5 tacos per person! If I hadn’t double-checked repeatedly, I would have been really let down. I spent over $75, and the entire experience made me feel undervalued as a customer—with no respect, no care, and a lack of pride in their work. I remained calm and polite throughout, but I just can't recommend this place. If you’re considering stopping by, I strongly suggest you think twice!

I flew into Houston and asked my mom to take me out for some good Mexican food, and she brought me to this restaurant. She ordered the vapor tacos, while I opted for the trompo tacos. Both dishes did not disappoint. The vapor tacos were fantastic; many places tend to run out of them, but I was told they usually have them here. The trompo tacos were also delicious, served fully dressed with salsa that had a nice kick without being overly spicy. I can’t wait to return and try more items from their menu!

The service was initially lacking. The server who seated us ignored us for 15 minutes. When he realized it,we got another server.And then everything was fantastic. The food and the price better be excellent to make up for the hiccup in service and they were. Prices are great, big menu, a good spot for families.
