Theodore Rex - Houston

I don?t say this often but I love this place. From Oxheart to T Rex, is one of the few restaurants in Houston that makes me keep going back for years. This place is small but cozy. Foods are creative, unique and cook to perfection. Service is verywelcoming and spectacular. Menu changes every season. Tip: Small place with tasty food and excellent service means difficult tobook. Plan your date night early.

I only got to eat at Oxheart twice, and this was my first trip to Theodore Rex. More laid back and comprehensible than Oxheart, but just as memorable and delicious.

My experience at Theodore Rex was flawless. The hospitality I received in the first five minutes was superior to most restaurants I have visited. Dining at Theodore Rex is incredible. The only peculiar thing is how each dish looks unassuming at first. You could have the best noodles of your life, a perfectly cooked chicken breast, or a dish that surprises you with its flavors. It's difficult to judge at first glance, but the food I had at Theodore Rex was some of the best in Houston and probably some of the best I've had recently. I wish I could have taken better pictures because I don't think I did the dishes justice.

So amazing eating. all we had was interesting, super boiled and delicious. I was never in the opposite where it is and it is a really cool little bag of houston. will definitely be back.

This restaurant is a laid-back spot with top-notch food. We thoroughly enjoyed the tomato toast, recommended by a friend, and the "grain and butter beans" dish was also delicious. However, we were not impressed with the erbehemn and wagyu beef entrees as the beef lacked flavor compared to the tender chicken. It would have been helpful if our waiter had mentioned this. The sommelier, on the other hand, was fantastic and recommended an Italian table wine that paired perfectly with our meal. Chef Justin Yu is friendly and talented, and his staff at Oxblood are attentive and create a relaxed atmosphere in the kitchen. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with just a minor criticism.
