Saravanaa Bhavan - Houston

I arrived for lunch to find a bustling crowd, but fortunately, we were seated after a 10-minute wait. We ordered our usual thali with puri, which never disappoints. The food was served quickly and turned out to be a hearty and delicious meal that felt quite homey. We also tried the buttermilk and lassi, both of which were enjoyable. The buttermilk had a noticeable spicy kick to it.

I really enjoyed the meals! It was a pleasure to finally have my food after so many weeks! The taste truly reflects the authenticity of Saravanan Bhavan. (The coffee could be improved, though.) The customer service needs attention; it could definitely be better. The staff member didn’t say a word, offered no suggestions, and didn’t even greet us. (As a Tamilian, it's disappointing when fellow Tamilians don’t communicate well – it feels like a curse!) While it didn’t bother me much this time since I was just excited to enjoy Tamil Nadu cuisine again, it might be off-putting for others. Best of luck!

The thali we ordered was absolutely amazing, with generous portions and perfectly cooked food. It was fresh, hot, and full of delightful aromas—a truly soulful experience. We even ordered extra pooris! And the mango lassi? Wow! Just look at the attached pictures; they are absolutely mouthwatering. The masala and spices were perfectly balanced, not too spicy and not bland at all. You’ll definitely enjoy every bite!

This was the best South Indian breakfast we've had in and around Houston. The food brought back memories of Chennai Saravanaa Bhavan, especially the sambar. We ordered several different dishes, all of which were freshly prepared and delicious. The service was prompt and there was no wait time. We will definitely return. Thank you! Food: 5/5

We love Sarvana Bhavan and it’s our go-to spot for South Indian cuisine. However, the service at this particular location was disappointing. We've visited various Sarvana Bhavan branches around the world, but this one really needs to improve its service. We ordered four dosas, and it took over 40 minutes for one of them to arrive, while others who ordered after us received their food quickly. Our server never checked in to see if we had received our entire order; we had to call them twice to remind them that we were still missing part of our meal. On the positive side, the food was as delicious as we expected, just like at their other locations. I'm giving this place three stars due to the poor service; if it were solely based on the food, they would definitely deserve five stars.
