Rudyard's - Houston

Part of me misses when things were a little grimier and greasier here like 10 years ago, but the essence of the pub remains, and the energy and food are great.

I tried calling in to order fish and chips. They couldn’t hear me by phone because the bar was too loud. So I had to do it online- the guy asked me to. I didn’t want to, but I didn’t seem to have a choice. So I wanted fish and chips plus a side salad. I overlooked that I had to make a selection for my fries. I thought that those were just substitutions to pick from if I wanted. There is even a “no side” option IF anybody doesn’t want their fries. But I didn’t select anything, as I just wanted it how it comes. I added a side salad (not substitution). I ended up getting 3 pieces of fish and a tiny side salad for $32. Sigh… I thought to call back and tell them, but they wouldn’t even be able to hear me anyway.

Amazing place to gather for groups, family, gatherings. Large meeting place, comedy show, amazing BLOODY MARYS!! Come on in!!

This has been my favorite bar for a decade... people here stuck up for me when other patrons made me uncomfortable. They've kept me alive during slim periods. I can't say enough how much I love this place.

Good steak night with solid drink specials. Will have to check out the comedy show one of these days.
