Roostar Vietnamese Grill - Houston

I requested wings on their own, as I typically do when I order through DoorDash. However, the cashier/manager on duty informed me that they don’t sell them that way in-store. When I suggested ordering through DoorDash for pickup instead, she said she could make an exception this time. However, she then charged me the full price of the wings combo instead of just for the wings. It's truly frustrating.

A charming Vietnamese sandwich shop with a great menu variety. They serve delicious banh mi and fantastic Vietnamese coffee. It's a nice spot to meet up and enjoy some time together. Prices are quite reasonable as well.

Cute building. Decently nice staff. Food? Meh. Sorry but for many reasons I’m pretty stuck up about restaurants. Why? Because I cook better than 90% of them in Houston. Noodles were piping hot and overdone/soggy. Vermicelli bowls should have the noodles quickly put in ice water to stop the cooking process. It wilts the lettuce sitting on top. Come on guys. Eggroll was great. Ribeye was finely diced/minced which I find strange. I have teeth no need to send my food out mechanically pulverized. VERY small portions. Thought I would give it a go but it’s giving ‘chain viet restaurant’ vibes. Also, from San Diego sooooo used to eating Vietnamese so authentic the staff don’t speak English. Yall enjoy. I’ll go down to Vietwich or up to little V in katy. Namaste. Ordered the ribeye bowl and a drink. Was 16 bucks. Price is ok but not for the portion.

Randomly stopped here after a morning trying strollers next door and quickly turned into a new obsession. So, so, so good!

Soooo tasty! You can’t miss this Vietnamese restaurant in Houston. I’m also very happy that they have half banh mi option which solves the problem like me who have tiny stomach. Also, the fries are super fresh and they literally burned my mouth lol (no worries chef we love that!
