It was way overpriced and the two people at the counter seemed very annoyed that we were there and unhappy that we only bought a couple of desserts. Overall bad customer service. Can’t even tell you what we got (this was a couple of months now) because it wasn’t memorable.
Amazing small business! I’ve been looking for an authentic French bakery for a long time in Houston, and Patisserie takes the cake! (Get it? All of their desserts (croissant, mousse cakes, etc used traditional French techniques and were exquisite. The large variety of flaky pastries had great lamination/flakiness in the croissants, koign-Amman (which was on the house because the worker was excited for me to try it , and raisin spiral I had. Just make sure to keep those kinds of pastries in open air to prevent them from becoming unflaky. The raisin spiral was not too sweet and had a great flaky texture, the orange koign Amani had a subtle, delectable note of orange in the buttery pastry, and the raspberry chocolate mousse cake was airy and smooth. The workers were nice and informative, and the baker actually came from a France where she got her degree at a renowned pastry school. I would come back again and try everything.
They need to update their google profile when they’re closed. I came here for the 2nd time in a row now and the store is closed again. Today is Friday. Their sign says they’re open Wednesday through Sunday and their google profile also said they’re currently open. I've wasted my time and gas twice now. Not coming back again ever.
I had the pleasure of tasting a Mont Blanc dessert at a friend’s dinner party, and it was so unique and delicious, the memory of it haunted me for weeks. I finally Googled “Mont Blanc dessert near me,” and, right under the Montblanc luxury pen store in The Galleria mall was Patisserie Paris Je T’aime.A quaint, walk-up pastry shop, the ambiance is lackluster, but who cares, when all you’re doing is picking up authentic French pastries that are seemingly impossible to find elsewhere? I certainly didn’t.I wanted to pick up beautiful desserts for a special dinner party, so I cleaned them out of their individual Mont Blancs. Note: I called in this morning to order them in advance, and I highly recommend you do this. These beauties are gorgeous!Bonus: as I am obsessed with Dominique Ansel’s NYC Cronuts, I had been wanting to try the other pastry he’s known for… the Kouign Amman. He describes it as a dense, buttery cake of many layers, which basically sounds like the epitome of pastry perfection. Without any plans to visit my favorite city in the near future, trying that unicorn of pastries seemed like a distant dream. Until today. While Chef Nga was putting the finishing touches on my Mont Blancs, my eyes perused the lovely offerings in the case and landed on the small paper sign that read, “Kouign Amman.” WHAT. I contained my excitement and coolly asked the man behind the counter to add one of those to my order. As soon as I go got home, I took a bite of that special treat. It was DIVINE! What a euphoric experience. Dense… check. Buttery… check. Addictive… you bet. No wonder Chef Ansel eats this for breakfast every morning. So glad I stumbled upon this gem of a patisserie. I look forward to many more magical moments with their very special offerings. Je les aime! And no, I do not have a pic of the Kouign Amman… all I could think about was eating it ?
First of all if you love French pastries do not go to this place!! Is not cheap and their pastries are terrible! Macaroons are the most popular French pastries and not even that is good in this place. Texture and flavor is way off, tried a few desserts and they all disappoint! Took a few almond croissants and they were literally smothered in filling making the croissant soggy and the filing was extremely unpleasant to eat. Seriously your money can buy you a decent dessert almost anywhere. I wish I could have been warned before I went there and drop $55 for no reason.
