I have been to a few cook Evelyn pop-ups in midtown, and unfortunately, she has barely acknowledged us, hardworking paying customers. The first time I let it slide because it was probably busy. The second time, at one of the farmers markets in Houston, she was on the phone the whole time and didn't really smile or look at us. Again, I gave her the benefit of the doubt as she may have been very busy. The last time was at tenfold coffee, where they had a pop-up with her and her coworker from Salvaje selling their products. I paid $30 for a variety of items, and once again she seemed more interested in chatting with her friend than acknowledging her paying customers. Her Salvaje partner, on the other hand, was engaging and very sweet. When I tried to approach Evelyn, she clearly saw me and turned around and walked away. I felt completely ignored by her. I don't understand why there was a lack of acknowledgment all these times, and why they seem to think they are above their customers. Without their customers, they would not be able to sustain their business as they portray on social media. I was looking forward to interacting with them, but unfortunately, their customer service needs improvement. It would be nice if they were more humble and polite when interacting with customers who not only support their business but also just want a simple smile or greeting. Small gestures can go a long way, and in all these instances, they missed the opportunity to be courteous. I have never had a negative experience with any other small vendor at a pop-up or small business, so I hope they can reflect on their actions and make a change.
The food was delicious and amazing. Thank you for giving back to the community during difficult times. You are truly incredible people and we are grateful for you!
We have chickens from the central co-op on the 20th street. they are amazing!
Purchases the mango sticky rice ice cream from their vendor in the heights. Very disappointed. Rice parts were good but overall the ice cream itself was a huge disappointment.
