French Gourmet Bakery - Houston

There is nothing French about this place. Croissant a hallmark of French bakeries was dense and salty. The crust of chocolate tart was doughy. One expects them to be fully baked, at least. They should really change their name.

Happy 50th anniversary, French Gourmet Bakery! I’ve enjoyed delicious pastries and baked goods for 39 years. May you celebrate many more!

Wow. I ordered a very special cake the recipient doesn't like icing. The young woman who helped me with the order was outstanding! They came up with wrapping it in plastic wrap so it wouldn't dry out, and instead of writing on the cake, we had two chocolate plates with the writing that we could put on later.And I must say, the cake was outstanding! It was moist, and really delicious! Everyone enjoyed it.Thank you so much for being so accommodating, and for turning out an awesome product!!!!!

My history with FGB goes back to before I was born (seriously). Circa 1989, my dad carried a FGB chocolate raspberry cake on his lap for the entirety of a four and a half hour flight to California to give to my mom, who he was dating at the time. Needless to say, I probably have FGB to thank in part for being alive.But jokes aside, their cakes are the best, especially the chocolate raspberry. And on the very, very rare occasion that I've had a problem with my order, their customer service (Lauren specifically) has been exceptionally helpful and pleasant. Honestly, I was blown away by how receptive to feedback they were and determined to remedy the situation. You guys are the best, thank you!

Wanted to pick up pastries after grocery shopping at Trader joes and found this place nearby! Got the chocolate croissant and chocolate thumbprint cookies. LOVED the chocolate thumbprint cookies, the chocolate was decadent and fresh!
