Flor De Cuba - Houston

First time coming to this place I was invited for my sister’s birthday and already getting disappointed we got charge cover (for men only) but they wouldn’t accept credit cards, only cash (is this a tax evasion) conveniently there is an ATM Machine right before you enter the dance room.

I've been going to this restaurant for the past fifteen years with my family. It's one of my two favorite Cuban restaurants in Houston. It has a hole in the wall feel being located in a strip mall in the suburbs. The staff has always been friendly. Food has always been good. Picadillo, fried plantains, black beans, iron beer soda and/ or a Cuban espresso.

My husband and I enjoyed the food there the first time we visited about 5 yrs ago. I don’t know if they changed cooks or ownership but this time it was the worst Cuban food I have ever had! The breaded steak and breaded chicken was way over cooked, dry and felt like we were eating jerky. Don’t order mango shake either- you’d think there is no way you could mess that up but they did. When the waitress asked how we liked it, I was truthful and showed her why we could not eat it. She never offered something in place of or apologize, she disappeared until it was time to bring us our check. Do not recommend it- save your money! We spent $53.00 for 2 people and walked out hungry.

Can’t believe this place has 4 stars and feeds melted styrofoam to customers. On picture you see actual box melted, didn’t see it until ate enough fries to reach the bottom.Hope health inspection shuts this place down.

Excellent food and salsa dancing! Our group had an amazing experience. We will definitely be back.
