Fat Bao - Houston

Friendly staff that made suggestions. The Avocado fries ? were well made. The Bao were good, my favorite being the Pork Back and the Memphis. They had a chicken version named Big Byrd that was good but the Pork type are the best. Will get this as much as I can.Food: 5/5

This cozy little restaurant offers a fantastic twist on bao buns. My friends and I sampled a variety of baos, and we all thoroughly enjoyed each one. It's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. However, I did notice that some of the selections can be a bit overly saucy, causing the bao to become soggy and fall apart quickly. Surprisingly, we all agreed that the highlight of our meal was the curry fries. The prices are fair and reasonable for each type of bao.

This is a fantastic restaurant to visit! Any bao enthusiast will love it here. I started with avocado chips served with a delicious jalapeño mayo, which I absolutely enjoyed. For my main course, I had the soft shell crab, and it was incredible—crispy and paired with a fluffy bun. I also tried the fried pork belly, and to be honest, I would have preferred it without the batter. To top it all off, I enjoyed a classic Ramuné drink. Overall, it was a great experience with delicious food!

I really appreciate that they offer chicken choices! The Baos were excellent, and I was pleasantly surprised by the fries—they were incredibly delicious and served hot. Overall, I’d rate the food a 5 out of 5.

Lovely, friendly and comfortable atmosphere, delicious food. I recommend the bulgogi fries!Edit: we had dessert and the banana/Nutella and s'mores bao were fantastic!! Just enough to not be overwhelming or too sweet.
