Empire State Jazz Cafe - Houston

Didn't eat, had already dined earlier. Was there just for the show, expected something a little more upscaled.

The jazz musicians were excellent. The show was called Sax In The City and four different saxophone players with keyboards and drums provided a great jazz musical experience. For food we had firecracker shrimp, boudin balls and shrimp crawfish etouffee which was good. We enjoyed the evening. The venue is in a strip mall, wasn’t quite sure what to expect but it was cozy.

Everything about the venue was great. It was small intimate which made it the perfect setting for a jazz spot. I definitely enjoyed myself plan to go again.

First things first, couldn’t find entrance, person at restaurant was rude. But the wait staff was friendly and excellent.

Great intimate venue. Great energy. Friendly staff. Owner is very personable and music was great!
