Elote Spot - Houston

I requested a gazpacho without chili powder or tahini, but it was made incorrectly. The woman in the kitchen rudely questioned my order and claimed I didn't know what I was asking for. The staff here is lazy and refuses to admit their mistakes. I will not be returning due to the lack of customer service provided.

As a nurse, hand hygiene is something I take very seriously. I was disappointed to witness a lack of proper hand washing practices at Elote Spot during my first visit. The person taking my order was sneezing and covered their mouth and nose with their shirt, but did not wash their hands before handling my food. They also only wore one glove, touching everything with it without changing it. I didn't feel comfortable asking for a new order, so I did not enjoy my meal. It is crucial for all food vendors to understand the importance of hand washing and proper glove usage. I hope this review can serve as a reminder for improvement in these areas. Good hand hygiene is essential for sanitation and preventing the spread of disease, especially in food preparation settings. Overall, the service was good, but I believe there is room for growth in hygiene practices at Elote Spot. Thank you for the snacks.

This restaurant is impressive so far. The corn dish is amazing and the fresh Aguas are truly authentic.

This restaurant is terrible. Despite the name "The Elote Spot," the elote was not good at all. I have not been so disappointed in both the service and the food quality in a long time. The elote was made with cheap and inedible ingredients. I could make a better elote with ingredients purchased from the gas station next door. I threw it in the trash where it belongs. The overpriced michelada was also terrible, made with cheap ingredients. The other snacks we ordered were equally unimpressive. To top off our horrible experience, we received terrible and unfriendly service. We definitely will not be returning and would not recommend it to others. Oh, and the restroom was dirty.
