I'm one of those people who notices every little detail, and even the light fixtures up high were dust-free, which impressed me. Another pleasant surprise was a nice bottle of extra virgin olive oil on the table, as many restaurants typically serve a bland light olive oil. The first staff member brought us water in just about three minutes and also delivered some bread. The bread consisted of small, crescent-shaped loaves, about three inches long. We began to dig in, and the first thing we noticed was that the bread wasn’t warm. It was also quite dense and tough, making it difficult to tear apart, and nearly flavorless. A few minutes later, our waiter came back (after we'd already looked through the menus and decided on our orders) but didn't ask us what we wanted to drink. I ordered the Chicken Romano and a Caesar salad, my wife opted for the Cheese Ravioli, and my daughter chose the Tortellini Genovese. I noted that neither the ravioli nor the tortellini came with a salad. The salad arrived fairly quickly, but it looked quite different from any Caesar salad I’ve had before. It was made of romaine lettuce, but the dressing only made the lettuce look wet rather than creamy like a traditional Caesar dressing. It included croutons and capers, but it was mostly flavorless, lacking even a hint of anchovies. I managed to eat about half of it before giving up. Our main dishes arrived just a few minutes later. The ravioli was barely warm, the tortellini was warmer, and the Chicken Romano was steaming hot. My wife mentioned that the ravioli had good flavor but would have been much better if it had been served hot. The tortellini was tasty as well, but the filling was quite dry.
This restaurant has a great location with free parking available for two hours. It's a wonderful spot to enjoy dinner and then explore the nearby clubs for some fun. The prices are reasonable, and the food is quite delightful.
Nothing particularly impressive. The decor is pleasant, and the ambiance music is nice and comfortable. The Eggplant Parm was $24, which feels a bit on the pricey side.
This is an amazing restaurant. My family and I have been coming here for years and it is always a great experience every time we go. We love that a lot of the food there is homemade and fresh from their deli and market that they have. I love to recommendthis place to others.
Here is a review from a Katy food critic, With honesty, The restaurant is a nice little place, And market, It's a bit small though and they leave storage boxes of drinks and stuff all over the place, Little unconventional, But it'bwas clean and hadthat Italian vibe, The waiter was excellent kind and served with a smile he was an older gentleman and I appreciated hisservice, Now the location is is okay, It's nice around there, Parking is a little hard but it's fine, Now for the FOOD! This wasthe issue it was bland, Not much flavor, No spice, The quality of the pasta is great, But the sauce on the chicken Alfredo wasdisappointing I had to put a bunch of Parmesan a touch of salt and a good amount of black pepper to give it some flavor, Chickenwas dry not well seasoned, It was lacking in flavor and spices, The toasted ravioli was ok, The red sauce is has to much wineand very bitter, Not spicy at all I left without a hint or aste of garlic in my mouth, The Penne Chicken asparagus pasta wasagain bland and not flavorful also dry and lacked any kind of sauce or anything to it, I gave it back from the disappointmentand me and my wife just settled on sharing the Alfredo, Now when they had a location in Cinco Ranch, Me and my family loved thisrestaurant the chief put love into the his dishes, The food needs to be more ITALIAN! bring the garlic and spices make it alittle ???? hot and spicy! Pizano!
