Jerk chicken and fried chicken were gooey….the mac and cheese had no flavor..not a salt or pepper. The red beans and rice were dry, tasteless, and gooey. How do you make red beans and rice dry. Lastly, don’t eat the spaghetti. It’s Taco Bell meat that sits on top of unflavored spaghetti noodles. The cupcakes, red velvet and banana pudding though 10/10!!!!!! It should just stick to desserts.
Please don’t waste your time and money!! This place is overpriced, the food was under cooked, and the customer service was nowhere near good. I had two salmon and shrimp bowls and both of them had undercooked salmon. I will never go back to this place again.
So I've given Cupcake Houston alot of chances. The food is a little pricey for what you get. My main issue is the food doesn't stay consistent is taste. I don't know if they have diff cooks or what. One days it's good the next it's not good at all. Jerk Chicken is not spicy at all it's sweet. Only good on certain days depending on I guess who's cooking.Mac And Cheese has a lot of sugar and as stated above not consistent. some days it's busting and some days it's blah! Cabbage diff every time I order which is crazy right two diff colors everything. Also they are heavy on the vinegar sometimes Cake was good only thing is for $8 this is the slide I received very small.
We are here in Houston for a vacation weekend. We stopped in for lunch and or the seafood bowl (pasta, corn, boiled egg, potatoes, shrimp, crab patties with a sauce) out of all that, the shrimp and pasta was okay. Everything else needed to be cooked longer and add seasoning. For as long as we were waiting, you would think they were throwing down in the kitchen. I also bought a banana pudding cupcake except that there was no banana pudding flavor. It's just a regular yellow cake mix with whip cream icing and a vanilla wafer on top. It's really dry and bland.... I should've known some was up if you suppose to be a cupcake shop, they would highlight the cupcakes but instead they were sitting on a shelf that was open so basically the cupcakes are drying out. Even more so, it's OK to talk to your customers. On his kiosk, its says the seafood bowl was $20 but the order came up to $38. That's because in store its $25 with the $3.50 cupcake and tax. Smh.... Will not return.
I had the salmon pasta. The pasta was great salmon with salsa and the sides. They gave more than enough food!
