Alonti Cafe & Catering - Houston

Beef bourguignon was yummy. Salmon was fluffy and perfectly cooked. Wine list was extensive and many bargains. Special braised lamb was an attractive dish but not as much meat for the effort. A classic French cafe always good Fred and service in a quaint atmosphere.

I went for a pre birthday celebration with good friends and it was perfect. The environment is cozy but not stuffy. All the items we ordered were amazing. Noteworthy were the muscles and the quail.

Excellent place for quiet conversation over lunch. Nice wine list, and some of the best bread in town.

Wine list is second to none in Houston with some very good value French wine. French dishes are traditional and very tasty

The food wasn’t quite as good as it has been in the past. The bread was still very good. Dessert of chocolate mousse was still delicious. Our service was not fantastic. She wasn’t at all friendly, seemed annoyed at my request for a box( which I had to ask for twice), And did not check back after dessert. No drink refills once I paid the bill even though we were still talking. I left a generous tip even so since we held the table for awhile after the meal. No smile, thank you, or thanks for coming. It was my friend’s birthday and there was a gift and card on the table, but the server said nothing. Not a requirement to be sure, but it would have been nice.
