La Plage Cafe - Hourtin

I have eaten here (or removed from here) for the last summer (with my family). we have the warmest reception every time. eating has always been wonderfully generous salads, really fresh, delicious burgers, fast and fabulous. it is busy, and a great place to see how the world comes and goes. hands down, the best option in the city.

We were a party of four, me being the only veggie. My family all enjoyed their burgers and the portions were of a good size. I had the garden burger which again was on the large size. However mine contained a chickpea burger/pattie which was...undercooked and basically a raw mush. This coupled with large slices of tomato and lettuce made the whole thing sloppy and cold and totally inedible. I wouldn't rush back although my kids probably would.

Fantastic food at reasonable pricesThis is a super place. Great food- both for burger fans and others- my family tried panini, tandoori chicken and chicken burger as well- all of which were excellent.The burger were really juicy but not in the least fatty. Great flavours on offer and excellent range, Roquefort etc. The frites are delicious and felt wholesome unlike burger chains.Can be busy from 7:30-8:30 as people leaving the beach.Only downside is that inside it is too stuffy next to the kitchen. You can sit outside on the small balcony and terraceThe price- we went twice and for a family of 5 the cost was around €45. Extremely good when compared to the local restaurants nearby.Finally the staff- really pleasant and very friendly.

Nice range of burgers, amongst other things. Good quality burgers served incredibly quickly with very friendly service and at surprisingly low prices - much cheaper and better value than the other restaurants in Hourtin Plage which, in my view, are over-priced - not bad, just expensive.
