J&s Italian Villa - Hot Springs

We are local. Our server was attentive and accommodating. The caprase salad was fair but not good. I had the seafood pasta substituted with a white wine sauce and it was very good. My daughter said the fettuccini with salmon was very good. The limoncello Bundt cake was excellent. I would go again but prefer other restaurants with the same pricing.

The food was excellent, service was somewhat slow. Our server did not appear busy but we had trouble finding her. Will go back again!

The evening began with cocktails. I had the special drink of the day a vodka martini with blood orange added. My husband a Negroni our friends ha single malt scotch a special martini. My husband had their house salad, eggplant rotini the clams in a tomato broth. All of those wee delicious but clams stow the show !! I had the watermelon salad with feta cheese which was light perfect for a summer salad. I had the Chilean Sea Bass which was perfectly cooked. This was atop broccolini, shave parsnips carrots which was a tasty accompaniment to the fish. My friends split a caprese salad which they very much enjoyed. Their entrees were the Atlantic Salmon the clams. They said both dishes were wonderful. The service was great, attentive but not smothering. The restaurant has been redecorated since the present owners bought it is lovely. As for noise level, it was very quiet when we first arrived at 5 pm but was a little louder 2 hours later when most tables were filled. It was a very pleasant dining experience we look forward to the next time we eat there.

We took our son wife to J S for their 7th anniversary. Plus their 5-year-old went also. We all had a really good time the food was fantastic. The kiddo wanted cherries soon a bowl appeared! So happy to have this fine comfortable restaurant here in Hot Springs…all the renovations look great it feels roomier now.

Worst experience. Waited at our reserved table for over an hour and no food. Waitress avoided us and when she came by she was apologizing over and over but could not figure out how to order our drinks or appetizers and salads. Wouldn't write anything down and then would come back again asking again what we ordered. Food was blah with no flavor. We came here last year and it was good and service good. Came back expecting the same and was sadly disappointed. Will not come again. I am not sure what was up with the waitress. I hope she gets the help she needs. Manager comp our meal but not drinks. Fair. Just hate having to complain and have a poopy evening.
