Gelados Do Atlantico - Horta

We were walking around from our cruise ship and stopped here for some cold ice cream and relaxed. The flavors and quality were good.

There was no more chocolate left and for two of us it's a catastrophe. We chose coffee as we usually like it but it lacked taste. We picked banana to replace chocolate and none of us liked it. The mango, white chocolate and caramel were only average and overall all the ice creams were too soft and the second scoops too small. This does not compare with italian ice cream.

The homemade icecream is excellent and the espresso and the cappucchino were very good italian style.

I guess after the most fantastic ice cream experience in Ponta Delgada (Sao Miguel) it was a difficult to compete for this one. But come on, an ice creamcone with 1 variety for 2,50€? That must something really awesome. It was a very delicuous (hazelnut) and OK (banana), but nothing outstanding, even though the cone tasted well itself.

Wonderful, eclectic flavors of the Azores we had basil cream, soft cheese fig, tasted several other yummy ones and went back for more! Across the street from a lovely park beside the marina.
