The Marine - Hornsea

The drive to Hornsea in the torrential rain on flooded roads was worth it. Grabbed the comfy chairs to enjoy a Coke and a Tutti Fruity Gin while watch the sea coming crashing in. Great offer on Sunday lunch with a free Starter or pudding. The best Sunday lunch around! The team looked a little scary, but they turned out to be really friendly and welcoming.

Great time at the Marine. Friendly staff and nice setting outside, with pods to guarantee social distancing. The views are splendid, right across the Hornsea sea front. Ordering through the app was a bit clunky but hey, were still living crazy COVID times, right? Food was great, had a burger and a pie. Will be back for sure.

The dining experience at this restaurant is fantastic! We always sit in the taproom, where dogs are allowed, and I must say the staff is wonderful and really good with our dog. We felt very comfortable and welcomed. The team and the owners are lovely and even provided tasty treats for our dog. We love coming here; it's one of our favorites! My husband particularly enjoys the selection of real ales available.

--- I give 5 stars for the pub's location and the small outdoor playground for children. However, I can only give 1 star for dinner. We recently visited for the day and ordered two dishes, but the smashed potatoes seemed overcooked, as if they had been left in the heater for too long or reheated in the microwave. The sausage was only lukewarm. We also tried the Jäger chicken wrap, but the chicken was tough, burnt, and unappetizing. The kids' cheeseburger and chips were disappointing too—the bun was stale, and it only came with six fries. To make matters worse, the staff forgot our order for a drink, and we had to go inside to remind them. They did apologize and offered us an extra drink as compensation, which was appreciated. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and processed a refund for the Jäger wrap and one of the dishes. Overall, they just need to improve their cooking. I would definitely consider coming back, but only for drinks. --- Let me know if you'd like any changes!

I made a stop at this pub during my Brit-stop, and it was fantastic! The atmosphere was lively for the England game, filled with friendly people and delicious food. The staff were helpful and accommodating. Plus, it's right by the sea, making it a perfect spot to relax.
