Hope Sushi

I wish I could share more positive thoughts about Hope Sushi. It was decent—not terrible, but also not outstanding.

The sushi restaurant I visited had a very limited selection, primarily just salmon and tuna. I ordered a California roll combo, expecting to receive some nigiri pieces, but what I got was sashimi instead. When I inquired about it, the staff seemed confused, and they didn’t have any salmon available, so I ended up with just tuna. If you’re looking for a traditional sushi experience, this isn’t the place. They offer very little actual sushi. Additionally, it was quite hot inside, and since there were only two tables occupied, I had to ask for more water. Once I finished my meal, I had to stand at the counter waiting for my bill.

As others have mentioned, the tables were sticky and the soy sauce containers didn’t look like they had been cleaned regularly. Despite it not being busy at all, the staff didn’t check on how our food was. As for the food quality, it fell short and doesn't even compare to sushi options in Metro Vancouver.

The California roll I got tasted fishy and the teriyaki chicken I got Was mostly fat. I don't feel well today either which I credit to the food here. I wouldn't recommendThe table I was at was sticky as well
