Shonos - Hoover

Incredible Japanese cuisine that feels homemade, hearty, and delicious. This charming family-run eatery offers a straightforward menu. The rich soup, dumplings, and chicken dishes are the best I've tasted in Hoover.

The chicken entrée was absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed the dumplings and miso soup! This is definitely a must-visit for delicious, light, and affordable Japanese cuisine.

Fast service and cheap, delicious food. There was nothing we didn't like. It is a good place if you do not want to cook at home and want a casual meal without a chic restaurant decor.

Definitely not a fine food, but a good place for fast, inexpensive Japanese cuisine. We were disappointed to find that they don't offer sushi, and all the meals we ordered had a bit too much sauce. But the taste was pretty good, and the service was okay. If we lived closer, we could eat there again, but it's a bit of a ride for us, and Hoover has several Japanese restaurants that offer a better experience.

Steak bowl was glorious! Nice quick lunch, very filling and great flavor for such a simple dish. Also the sweet tea is crazy good!
