Yikes.Unfortunately, the service was horrible. I had to get up twice to find the server to ask for drinks to be refilled. Server was quick when initially seated but disappeared after first order. Even after going to the front to ask for the server it was another 10 min before he returned. They would sure make more money if they had attentive serving staff. I wanted to order more dishes but by the time the server came back from hiding my food had settled and I was full. Maybe a good thing for me… certainly not for the restaurant.Had the server been a little more attentive I would have given this a 5 star rating. I mean the place wasn’t packed. There was no reason to not attend to us.So, my experience was…. Excellent food but seriously poor execution of service. I will go back, hopeful that I just got a server on a bad night. The food is that good.Parking: Small lot on side.
I enjoyed Tsukeneya. My favorite dish was the eggplant and agedashi tofu it was on a special menu, I believe. It was a little pricey but you do get more than the typical agedashi tofu serving.I also enjoyed the yakisoba though it came out last and we were so full already. Our server was really nice and at first he was attentive, but then he got busy and was absent when we needed things and/or were missing items. I don't think it was necessarily that he forgot us or was being lazy, he just had too many to tend to.There is a small lot in the back to park in but it was full so we found street parking. I'd return here.
All of the above Japanese food! Polite, food was good, excellent variety of all different types of Japanese dishes
I haven't go there long time. The food taste good as used be but chicken menu were all out!So no all chicken RobataThey had only karaage. Also a lot of things don't have on a menu anymore.Tsukune didn't come with law egg dipping, too.I miss old Tsukuneya.
I remember when this place first opened and I kept telling my boyfriend that we need to come and try it out! Well, we were actually on our way to get Tacos when we were getting close and I blurted out that we should stop and see if there's a table available first. We were lucky! They had a table available but it was where you sit on the floor. I'm not the best with sitting on floors for long periods of time but I said I'll take it! I was so glad to see that the floor opened up under the table so you can still sit as if you're sitting on a chair. Yay for my knees!Service was very friendly but a little slow. Also, the Kamameshi can take up to 40 minutes to cook so I have no idea how that works with eating here? I decided not to order it and was small kine sad lol. Ok, to begin, I started with Lychee Sake so good I ordered 2!For food, we ordered family style:Tsukune: Teriyaki, Yuzu Daikon, Cayenne, Jalapeño, Sesame Seed, Tsukune Stuffed Shiitake Mushroom (this was the best one by a lot but took the longest to come out)Taste of Nagoya: Nagoya Chicken Miso Kushikatsu, Sizzling Port Miso Tonkatsu, Japanese Style Crispy HamburgerSushi: Ahi Roll, Salmon NigiriSalad: Japanese Potato SaladOf all the food ordered I think the Tsukune was the most interesting and tasty. I do want to come back to try their other menu items!
