When the pho arrived, it came with culantro, which I believe is essential for a proper pho experience. Many places omit this from the typical bean sprout and basil plate. While I usually prefer lime over lemon, it didn’t matter in this case because the pho was outstanding. It surpassed anything I’ve had in New York over the past three years and was comparable to some great spots in Texas. The only downside was the broth, which could have been slightly better, but it was still excellent. The bowl was piping hot – I enjoyed half of it without adding hoisin or sriracha because I thought it was perfect as it was. My wife started on her half, and it was still steaming when she began eating. Next, we tried the Bo La Lot, which earned a solid thumbs up. The fish sauce was spot on. I didn’t feel the need to compare it to anything else on the island; it was like enjoying a meal while sitting on the beach, watching the sunset. The main dishes we intended to try were the Canh Chua and Ca Kho To. After savoring the soup with my rice, I regretted not coming here the day before for our first taste of Vietnamese cuisine. I highly recommend this restaurant for Vietnamese food; the service was exceptional. We communicated in Vietnamese, so there were no language barriers, but I observed them being very accommodating to non-Vietnamese customers, unlike some other reviews that mentioned poor service.
This is the best Vietnamese restaurant in the area. All the dishes were authentic and incredibly fresh.
This is my second visit to Hawaii, and I just had to come back here for the pho. If I return to Hawaii a third time, I’ll definitely stop by for lunch again. The service is excellent, and the pho is fantastic. The picture shows my meal halfway through—it was massive!
One of the better Pho restaurant in Chinatown. Recommend their Bun Bo Hue. You can ask to remove blood tofu and pig feet if that's not your thing.
This is one of our go to locations for lunch. They offer a wide variety of dishes, from soups, rice dishes, appetizers, banh mi...literally a hundred-plus ... our favorites are: #91 (cold noodle with toppings, renumbered to #86), the beef stew with egg noodles, the rice plate with lemongrass chicken...the fish stew, too many to remember...they 're all good.
