Not too sweet and not too bland, it's just right. The bread pudding is also very good, make sure you ask them to warm it up for you if you're going to eat it right away. I want to try the ube cheesecake next time.
I had a cinnamon sugar dusted malasado, coffee and this pumpkin bar with whipped soy cream. Everything was great! The malasado though...omg. so soft warm and melted in my mouth. I originally went to another well known spot but the line was so long and parking ridiculous. I Google nearest malasado that had a good rating and that's how I found this place. So glad I did.
The BFF suggested trying them out instead of Leonard's bc she said this their go-to spot (locals and so I went ahead and ordered online for pick up the next morning.Their online system was super easy. I ordered classic malasadas (12 . The fambam and I picked it up at 9:20 am. Thankfully, it was early and there's parking spot around (vs Leonard's where parking is a nightmare! The process was to call them when you're outside and to give them the order number. Waited for less than 5 minutes. We ended up getting coffee and few other goodies: (a few cookies, ube haupia something as well as the matcha green tea cake bomb .We ate it inside the van and everyone were quiet! First bite: OMG!!! So so so so good! It's fluffy, not greasy, it was just right. Everyone in the van all agreed: yup this is better than Leonard's.This might be a heated debate but give it a go. Then you can see for yourself. The token staff that morning was super friendly and happy to serve you. That alone won me over. So thankful for this recommendation and I am now a fan. So much so that my folks are already planning on taking some back home to the Bay Area. To the management: keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to seeing you soon!
I really enjoyed the variety of treats offered. I got the malasada ice cream which was delish but not quite as vanilla/flavorful as I 'd hoped. Maybe adding some custard in there would be good. The malasadas were good though a bit more bready textured than some others on the island. Everything seemed fresh and service was quick. Parking was a little difficult but there was a paid lot not too far from the shop.
This place has the best malasadas on the island. It's tucked up away from downtown Waikiki which makes it even better. This cute little shop is definetly amazing. The size and the freshness of the malasadas are perfect. They come out extremely hot and fresh. The size is massive, it's the size of a softball. My all time favorite little shop to get some hot and fresh malasadas!
