I want to try more varieties, but this is definitely a must while you are in Hawaii. There are some stands in Waikiki beach that serve the same food as it is all the same owner.
When I went to Hawaii for the first time, I was looking for a breakfast and heard about this place. You have musubi, a kind of Hawaiian rice ball with spam. I said Spam is not very attractive, but hey, I'm hungry, so let's try... Oh, boy, I was surprised... And a good one! Do not have much meat on the islands, they rely on many imports, such as spam, and over time they make miracles with it! It is also there that I discovered Onigiri, the traditional Japanese rice balls. I was accumulated : Because of this place I wanted to go to Japan to discover more food : So if you go to this place in Hawaii, you won't regret it!
Def lives to the hype! The Spam-Ei Musubi was fresh and decent in size. I would have preferred rice with a little more flavor or spices, but overall he helped to balance the saltiness of the spam. I also recommend trying their shrimp tempoura rolls, especially the spicy ones! Since musubi is quite affordable, make sure to bring some cash!
Perfect way to start your morning with a Spam Musubi. We have the OG Spam musubi and the Eel-Ei Spam musubi as well as the chicken carrage. The flavors were delicious, but the rice spam ratio on a little too much rice. It is at a small corner on the Seaside Ave and there are very limited parking fortunately our place was walking from it. They are busy and there is usually a line of three or more people, but it is definitely worth waiting. Service was exceptional and gave us good recommendations.
Charming hole in the wall spot with several kinds of musubi including the classic spam musubi. I got the ahi poke and it was one of my favorite meals in Hawaii! Not to mention the most budget-friendly! Grab a couple of musubi and go eat them on the beach. It really doesn't get much better than that.
