Mr. Ojisan Neo Sushi - Honolulu

I made a reservation for New Year's Eve, but when I arrived, the restaurant was closed. I hope they'll be more responsible in the future and manage their reservations better, especially during busy times.

Great tasting Japanese food and sushi at very reasonable prices! Interesting and authentic side dishes come with your meal. Friendly staff offer great service! And there is a bar serving drinks too!Food: 5/5

It's a bit noisy and on a sports bar side of things. They have high tables and regular tables. The staff was super nice and service was superb. The food... omg everything we tried was amazing. Best sushi and tempura!Food: 5/5

I arrived just before last call after the UH baseball game, and I had a fantastic experience. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Everything was flavorful and fresh, and the tempura was perfectly battered—light and not greasy at all. I would definitely recommend this place for late-night dining. Just a heads up: the last call for food on Fridays and Saturdays is at 10:30 PM. I really miss the old days when there were so many options for late-night noodles and teriyaki burgers!

The best thing there is the chirashi. It has a great assortment of sashimi/raw fish, and it's only $27... for now. The draft beer selection is weak, and the glasses are small. The best deal is getting a pitcher, but again, you have to like what they have on draft. The servers were nice and pleasant but the service was sub par. They bus the tables real quick but no one filled our water once or allowed us to order another round of drinks. Sit at the bar or sushi bar for better service. The atmosphere is loud and not intimate. It is difficult to sustain meaningful conversations here.
